As proud partners of the Winnipeg Jets, KFC tapped into the team’s iconic playoff ritual, the Whiteout, and found the perfect brand connection with star player Kyle F. Connor—who fans call “KFC”. We gave our iconic bucket a Whiteout of its own, crashed the game with Colonel Sanders dressed in all white, and even rebranded a KFC into a “Kyle F*cking Connor.” KFC stopped being just about chicken—it became a symbol of Jets pride.
KFC Canada fed into an NHL fan frenzy and drew the attention of hockey broadcasters across North America last week after overhauling its iconography to temporarily replace Colonel Sanders with Jets star Kyle Connor.
